Pauline Schneider interviews Cliff Weathers who comes to Riverkeeper after 30 years as a writer, editor and multimedia producer. He served as a deputy editor of Consumer Reports for 10 years, focusing on automotive reliability, green technologies and product safety. As AlterNet’s senior editor, Cliff documented how communities are impacted by extreme forms of fossil fuel extraction and crude oil transportation. His articles on green consumerism, alternative energy and sustainability have appeared in several publications, including Salon and Raw Story. Cliff graduated from Oakland University in suburban Detroit, where he was a journalism major. A Michigan native, Cliff came to New York in 1995 and resides in South Nyack.
